Welcome to Ben’s Chili Bowl!!!
We thank you for your interest and hope that you decide to bring your group to dine with us. We feel that there is no better place to dine in Washington to experience the real D.C. in all of its flavor and history. 2008 was an incredible year for us as it marked our 50th year in business. We are family-owned and operated and have remained open in this location since 1958. We also have a video showing President Obama's visit and the history of Ben's Chili Bowl and U Street that we are happy to show to your group on request. And we now have a gift shop & official Visitors Center! They are located next door to the right as you are entering Ben's Chili Bowl. We have our popular t-shirts, aprons, Ben's history book, hats, photos and many other items. We hope to see you soon!
(Please note though that due to our popularity, especially after the President's visit that we are unable to take group reservations for Saturdays or Sundays).

Got a Group but want to pay individually?
For large groups where each person is paying individually, we ask that each group member proceed through our line at the counter. There they can order, pay, and receive their meal prior to sitting. Our service is much faster with this method and the line moves relatively quickly. Please call ahead to schedule as this option is limited by our capacity and needs to be confirmed prior to your group’s arrival. By knowing in advance, we will be better prepared to serve you, and can possibly reserve a block of seats for your group.
